Indian shares ended flat on Wednesday as investors booked profit in recent outperformers, but defence stocks rose after the United States recognised the country as a "major defence partner" during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ongoing U.S. visit.The broader NSE Nifty ended 0.08 percent higher at 8,273.05, while the benchmark BSE Sensex closed up 0.04percent at 27,020.66.Technical indicators point to more gains ahead, with the Nifty last month seeing its 50-day moving average cross above the 200-dSensex rallies 232 points to close above 27,000; Jammu & Kashmir Bank rises 10.8 pct

Indian shares closed higher on Tuesday after the country's central bank kept key rates unchanged, but said it would remain "accommodative" as it keeps a watch on inflation levels.The broader Nifty closed 0.8 percent higher at 8,266.45, after touching its highest since Oct. 26.The benchmark Sensex ended up 0.87 percent at 27,009.67, breaching the 27,000 mark for the first time since Oct. 29.Both indexes had ended lower on Monday.Sensex closes 66 points down ahead of RBI monetary policy meet; Bank of Baroda gains 2.3 pct

Indian shares ended steady on Friday, skidding from a 7-month high hit earlier in the session, as gains in agriculture-related stocks and automakers were offset by a slump in Idea Cellular Ltd.The broader NSE Nifty ended 0.02 percent higher at 8,220.80, but rose 0.76 percent this week to mark a second consecutive weekly gain.
