  • The Sensex ended marginally lower on Tuesday, dragged down by losses in technology stocks, which offset gains in financial and auto shares as investors braced for key corporate results announcements later in the week.
     
    The BSE index fell 0.19 percent to 27,876.61, while the Nifty rose 0.01 percent to 8,626.25.
     
    The 30-share bundle started off positively at 27,966.18 and advanced to hit a high of 28,029.80. However, on selling in key bluechips at improved levels, it cracked below the 28,000-mark to a low of 27,845.6

  • The market has ended in red in the one-hour Muhurat trading on Diwali. After a brief buying spree, the Nifty ended below 8650. 
     
    The 50-share index was down 12.30 points or 0.1 percent at 8625.70. The Sensex is down 11.30 points at 27930.21. About 1951 shares advanced, 519 shares declined, and 200 shares are unchanged. 
     
    Lupin, ONGC, Sun Pharma, Infosys and HUL were gainers while Dr Reddy's Labs, Tata Motors, Adani Ports, NTPC and HDFC were losers in the Sensex.

  • Indian shares ended lower on Wednesday, dragged down by financial stocks after Axis Bank reported slump in quarterly net profit on Tuesday.
     
    The Nifty closed 0.88 percent lower at 8,615.25 after falling 1.09 percent earlier in the session.
     
    The Sensex ended 0.91 percent down at 27,836.51 after slumping as much as 1.18 percent earlier. Both the indexes recorded their biggest intra-day fall since Oct. 13.
